Goldmann applanation tonometer

The gold standard to this day

Professor Goldmann's research into glaucoma led to the development of the first device for measuring intraocular pressure: the Applanation Tonometer 870. Together with Haag-Streit, it was launched in 1957, followed by the AT 900 in 1958. It has remained the gold standard ever since.
